Donate an Hour launch

Airport to launch new fund raising initiative ‘Donate an Hour’ in support of Hunter Breast Cancer Foundation
Friday, 11 July 2014

Newcastle Airport will launch its new fund raising initiative Donate an Hour next week.

The concept of Donate an Hour is simple; you donate an hour of your pay at www.donateanhour.com.au

Every cent donated will go to the Hunter Breast Cancer Foundation to help those in the Hunter and Central Coast regions who are fighting breast cancer right now.

Donate an Hour is being officially launched at an un-business breakfast at Newcastle Jockey Club on Thursday 17 July from 7.15am.

“Since 2010 Newcastle Airport has raised $165,000 for the Foundation by hosting corporate events,” said Newcastle Airport CEO Paul Hughes.  “This year we thought we’d cast the net wider and invite our community to help us raise funds for this locally-based charity.

“It’s really easy for everyone to get involved, simply donate an hour of your pay via www.donateanhour.com.au or purchase a ticket to attend our un-business breakfast,” said Paul.

The launch breakfast will turn the concept of a business breakfast on its head.  Inspired by a carnival’s side-show-alley, attendees will have their shooting-eye challenged in the Nerf Gun Shoot Out, their driving prowess tested in the Daytona arcade race, and test their throwing arm in a game of quirky quoits, to name a few of the games to be played.

“This breakfast certainly isn’t your typical business breakfast. There will be no tables of 10 and there’s no key note speaker.  Instead, it will be a morning of fun, games and a few laughs,” commented Paul.

Breakfast attendees will be playing to win from cache of $25,000 worth of prizes, auction items, and raffle prizes.

Everyone is invited to attend the breakfast from 7.15am on Thursday 17 July.  Tickets are $39 each and can be purchased from www.newcastleairport.eventbrite.com.au

You can donate an hour of your pay at www.donateanhour.com.au
