Direct Newcastle – Coffs Harbour flights take off

Monday, 17 October 2016

Passengers and dignitaries today celebrated the inaugural FlyPelican flight to Coffs Harbour with cake and balloons at Newcastle Airport.

Today’s launch marks the beginning of year-round services connecting the two NSW cities. The service will operate five times a week on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays.

“The commencement of today’s service shows the desire of this region to be connected not just to the world and other states, but to other cities in NSW.

“There’s now no need to jump in the car to get to Coffs Harbour. It’s possible to start your trip at Newcastle Airport and arrive in Coffs Harbour within the hour,” said Newcastle Airport CEO, Dr Peter Cock.

The launch of this new services follows rapid expansion of the FlyPelican network from Newcastle Airport, which now totals five destinations: Sydney, Canberra, Ballina/Byron Bay, Dubbo, and Coffs Harbour.

“This airline is truly a Hunter success story,” said Peter. “We’re delighted that we can play a part and contribute to their success in this region.”

Airfares between Newcastle and Coffs Harbour start from just $99 inclusive of all taxes and can be made at www.flypelican.com.au
