Media Release: Extra car spaces

Extra car spaces means park to plane with no pain

Thursday, 8 December 2016

Newcastle Airport has increased the number of car parking spaces in time for summer, with an extension to two of its car parks.

An extra 125 spaces have been created following a recent development and reconfiguration in the Long Stay Car Park 1. An additional 75 spaces were also created in Long Stay Saver Car Park--which offers the most economical parking on site.

These works bring total number of car parking spaces at Newcastle Airport to almost 2,000 bays.

“These extra spaces will help to meet an ever-increasing demand for car parking at Newcastle Airport,” said Newcastle Airport CEO, Dr Peter Cock.

“Following the busiest October on record, we now have the most car parking spaces we’ve ever had, ready for the summer peak, which is forecast to be the busiest ever too,” said Peter.

The additional parking spaces are located short walking distance from the terminal. Newcastle Airport continually reviews car parking demand and has long-term plans to offer additional parking spaces making it more convenient and less stressful for locals than flying from Sydney.

Newcastle Airport’s website newcastleairport.com.au has extensive information about transport choices and on-site car parking options, including an online car parking calculator, giving passengers the information they need to make the best choice for individual travel needs and budget.

“We are constantly working to improve the experience for all who visit Newcastle Airport, particularly during the busy festive season,” concluded Peter.
