Car parking at Newcastle Airport:  more parking, more choices

Newcastle Airport's car parking system has been designed to ensure that all customers have a range of parking and pricing options available to suit your specific needs.

Parking payment options

Cash

1. Push the button located at the boom gate as you enter the car park and take a ticket.
2. Take this ticket with you.
3. Pay for your parking at the payment machines located in the arrivals area of the terminal building before returning to your vehicle.

Credit card

There are two different ways to use your credit card to pay for your parking at Newcastle Airport. 

OPTION 1

1. Push the button located at the boom gate as you enter the car park and take a ticket.
2. Take this ticket with you.
3. Either pay for your parking at the pay stations located within the terminal building or alternatively insert your ticket followed by your credit card at the exit boom gate.

OPTION 2

1. At the entry boom gate insert your credit card, the boom gate will open.
2. On exiting, insert the SAME credit card into the exit boom gate, this will allow for an automatic charge to your credit card account, the boom gate will open.

All credit card transactions are automatically issued with a receipt.

Passenger drop off/pick up

Newcastle Airport has a designated drop off area in front of the terminal building outside the departures entrance.  For security reasons, vehicles dropping off passengers at the front of the terminal must be attended by the driver at all times.  Any vehicle left unattended will be subject to an immediate fine and may be towed.  Attended vehicles can only remain in the drop off /pick up area for a maximum of two minutes. 

Please note:  Newcastle Airport does not have a passenger pick up facility at the front of the terminal building. Newcastle Airport offers car parking in the Gold Car Park from $2.50 for the first 30 minutes.  

Disabled car park spaces at Newcastle Airport

Newcastle Airport has accessible car parking spaces available in the Platinum, Gold and Silver car parks.  All pathways leading to the terminal from the Platinum, Gold and Silver car parks are compliant with Australian accessibility standards ensuring ease of access for all users. 

Newcastle Airport has also created a specific drop off and pick up zone for persons with a disability – this zone is located outside the arrivals door at the eastern end (arrivals end) of the building.  Due to security regulations, cars are unable to be left unattended in this area, so it is suggested that if you are picking up a passenger who has a disability, it is best to park in the Gold Car Park, locate your passenger, and them direct them to the pick up zone. 

Motorcycles

Motorcycles are required to park in designated bays within the car parks and are not permitted to park on any footpaths, walkways or entry/exit doors.  Motorcycles that are parked illegally will be subject to an immediate fine and may be towed.  If you are unsure of where to park upon your arrival, please speak to a car park attendant who will point you in the right direction.
