Port Stephens month long seafood celebration has arrived
Newcastle Airport is a proud sponsor of the renowned Port Stephens Seafood Festival and we invite you to experience some of the best seafood in the country located less than a 40-minute drive away.
You are spoilt for choice with an abundance of fresh seafood year-round but August is the best time to experience the local catch in the company of local oyster growers, fishermen and food legends, as the LOVE SEA FOOD month rolls-out.
Throughout August you can indulge in a wide variety of the delicious, local seafood specialties, at popular Port Stephens restaurants and cafes. Regional specialities including creamy rock oysters, fresh prawns, and a host of just-caught fish will be featured on the special Love Sea Food menus, as relaxed eateries around Port Stephens get creative.
Returning to the festival program this year, by popular demand, is the Love Sea Food Signature Series. These very special dining experiences are hosted by some of the region’s finest restaurants and renowned local chefs, who go all-out to impress with their creative take on the world-class local seafood. Guests can expect to gain insight into the cultivation, preparation and enjoyment of Port Stephens’ premium seafood, from respected industry experts.
Love Sea Food is all about enjoying the famous Port Stephens seafood, right at the source. You can meet the local fishing families and oyster growers, who have been harvesting the pristine waters for generations, at the big Love Sea Food Festival Weekend, August 18-19.
Taste and buy creamy local oysters, try your hand at oyster shucking, see cooking demonstrations and taste the fresh seafood Port Stephens is famous for, at D’ALBORA Marinas, Nelson Bay. There’s fun for all the family with children’s activities and Sacred Tree markets on the Saturday.
