FlyPelican adds Newcastle – Ballina / Byron Bay

Wednesday, 21 October 2015

Today FlyPelican announced it will add Newcastle – Ballina / Byron Bay to its Newcastle network. The service, scheduled to commence Monday, 7 December 2015 (subject to regulatory approval), is warmly welcomed by Newcastle Airport’s CEO Dr Peter Cock.

"This announcement by FlyPelican is excellent news for our region,” said Peter.

"It is heartening to see that locally-based FlyPelican, which only started operations in June, has seen this as an opportunity to grow their regional network.”

Rex announced last month they would be withdrawing from the Newcastle – Ballina / Byron Bay.

FlyPelican will commence services with daily return service between Newcastle and Ballina / Byron Bay and announced launch fares starting from $99 one-way (inclusive of all taxes).

“Coming into the busy summer holiday period, I am confident that the people of the Hunter will support this new service when it starts; just as they have supported FlyPelican’s Newcastle – Canberra and Newcastle – Sydney services,” concluded Peter.
