Go Smarter: New, free Airport WiFi keeps you connected

Tuesday, 23 October 2017

This week Newcastle Airport turned on its fully upgraded public WiFi service, giving passengers another reason to choose the airport as their point A when they next fly

The completely new system, provides improved WiFi speeds and coverage throughout the entire terminal, and best of all, it’s free

The network has been built with future passenger growth in mind and will be easily extended into further terminal developments. Additionally, when the NBN comes to Williamtown, the system is ready for a swift switchover.

Dr Peter Cock, CEO, said, “We understand how important it is to stay connected both in person – which we help to facilitate every day by connecting our region to the rest of Australian and beyond – and online through phones, tablets, or laptops.”

“We’ve invested extensively in this WiFi network to ensure our passengers have access to reliable and fast internet when using our terminal,” commented Peter.

“We’re committed to giving our region an airport it deserves. This is why we’re keeping access to our new WiFi network free for our passengers.”

This investment in state-of-the-art passenger services is in addition to the recent installation of ‘smart seats’ in the terminal that provide more than 300 charge points in the departure lounge.

“Our new WiFi is another reason why it’s smarter to choose Newcastle Airport as your point A,” concluded Peter.

Ends.
