Aviation Careers Day

The Aviation Careers Day is an initiative driven by Newcastle Airport and supported by the Airport’s aviation-precinct. Now in its sixth year, this free-of-charge annual event promotes the aviation industry as a career pathway to high school students.

In 2012, Newcastle Airport will welcome as many as 120 students from Hunter, Lake Macquarue and Central Coast high schools.

Newcastle Airport supports young people of the Hunter, not only through the award-winning Schools Program, but also by proudly sponsoring Civic Theatre’s ‘Inspirations’ Children’s Season again in 2012.
Newcastle Airport is proud to help bring the wonderful world of live theatre to the Hunter’s youngest audience by sponsoring Civic Theatre Inspirations Children’s Season, for the fifth year.
Newcastle Airport has been the major sponsor of the Civic Theatre ‘Inspirations’ Children’s Season since 2008. ‘Inspirations’ brings the very best productions to Civic Theatre Newcastle for children and their families.

Teachers making early bookings for the Schools Program have the chance to win their school tickets to Children’s Season shows. In 2012, Newcastle Airport presented more than 200 tickets to Hunter Schools.

Newcastle Airport is proud to once again support Australia’s largest surfing festival, Surfest. Held 7 to 18 March 2011 at Merewether Beach, Surfest is a well-known local event. Some of the world's best surfers fly into Newcastle Airport to hit the waves at Merewether to compete.
