Newcastle Airport extends its warmest congratulations to Lockheed Martin Australia on yesterday's announcement from the Australian Defence Force (ADF) designating Lockheed Martin Australia as the chosen strategic partner for AIR6500 Phase 1 (AIR6500-1), Joint Air Battle Management System (JABMS).

“This is an enormous accomplishment for Lockheed Martin Australia and it showcases their unwavering commitment to innovation, excellence, and the protection of our nation," said Dr Peter Cock CEO of Newcastle Airport.

The AIR6500 initiative epitomises the ADF's commitment to ensuring our defence forces are equipped with the most advanced technology, further solidifying our national security and through this regional stability. Lockheed Martin Australia's involvement in this initiative is a testament to their global standards of excellence and the deep trust vested in them by the ADF.

“With this ADF announcement, Newcastle Airport would like to highlight that the Greater Hunter region stands ready to assist, we understand defence industry is a national endeavour and are ready to play our part.”

“We look forward to the positive impacts this program will bring, from creating 60 additional jobs in the Hunter to fostering further technological advancements. This type of project will be a catalyst for other defence investment in region and will support the development of numerous SMEs who will tap into the work generated.”
