The inaugural flight to Cairns departs at 12:00pm on Wednesday, 23rd June 2021 and will arrive at Cairns Airport at 2:45pm.
How often will there be flights to Cairns
Flights to Cairns will operate from Newcastle three times per week on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday.
This is a season service that starts on 23 June and concludes on 4 October 2021.
How long will the flight take?
The flight will take around 2 hours and 45 minutes. Flight times can vary depending on the weather conditions.
What will the fares be?
There are a range of different fares available to suit all travellers' needs, flexibility and budgets.

Is this a permanent route?
No, this is a seasonal route from 23 June to 4 October 2021.
Expectations are that the season will be extended or flight frequency increased if demand for the service is strong.
What type of plane will fly this route?
Jetstar will fly an Airbus A320 aircraft which has 180 seats.
How much luggage can I take?
You can purchase checked baggage from 15kg to 40kg. It is recommended to buy your baggage when you book your ticket. It costs more to add your baggage online after booking and at the airport.
